I’m Staff Writer for Strategy and occasionally write for sister publication, Media in Canada. As a journalist, I cover daily news and write features about industry trends in the marketing and advertising space. I write/edit a biweekly shopper marketing report as well.
I’ve held writing roles with Heart & Stroke, Centennial College, Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association, and am a former producer for the CBC.
I’ve written for TV, done some social media management, event photography, InDesign work, media relations, speechwriting, and feature journalism. I’ve appeared on Newstalk 1010 and Global Television to discuss social media.
I have freelanced for the Globe & Mail, Toronto Star, Toro, Mental Floss, Daily Dead, and Rue Morgue, to name a few, examples of which can be seen on the Writing page.
I’ve authored three books, all nonfiction.
I co-host, produce, and edit the Really Awful Movies Podcast, a spirited genre film show that has been downloaded in over 70 countries. I sometimes cover horror film festivals and conventions as a journalist. I also write weekly genre film reviews, including the occasional advanced screener sent my way, at Really Awful Movies.
